I dont know this book. But i know what you feel. Same happened to the Witcher cast. It was not a bad show but the forced diversity is irritating.

Well, I mean, sure, Caemlyn is supposed to represent medieval England, and making everyone in the Two Rivers black makes very little sense, but as long as everyone does their job well I won't complain. Movie/series adaptations always differ from the books in a lot of ways.

I stopped reading at book five. At that point I realized the plot was progressing in geologic time. I had already read around 5,000 pages and nothing had been resolved. There are about fifteen books in the series, each around 800 pages in lengths. And then when the last book came out. I read how it was resolved, and said "Yeah, that's totally not worth sticking around for." Also how many times is that chick going to play with her braid, or Robert Jordan going to describe the knotwork? How about the Dark Lord make his entrance and do something?
