*Captain here* Great episode, and of course it is not intended to be realistic. But for those interested in if this would physically be possible: it would not. A refrigerator does technically not cool the inside, but removes heat from the inside (resulting in the inside having a lower temperature than the outside). The heat is transported to the outside of the refrigerator. Unless the heat is transported to somewhere outside the room/building (for example to the outside air), opening a fridge like this will actually result in warming up the room instead of cooling, because you will use electricity (heat production) to pump heat from the inside to the outside, which will then mix again with the air on the inside, resulting in a net gain in heat in the room due to the electricity use. *Flies way*
